About This Journey
The 2 Day Tarangire and Ngorongoro Safari is an excellent short Tanzania safari for travelers who want to experience two of the most famous wildlife destinations on the Northern Safari Circuit. Starting from Arusha, the journey combines the elephant rich landscapes and ancient baobab trees of Tarangire National Park with the spectacular wildlife of the Ngorongoro Crater.
Tarangire National Park is especially known for elephants, baobab landscapes, the Tarangire River and diverse birdlife. Tanzania National Parks highlights large elephant families, more than 550 bird species and important dry season wildlife concentrations around the river and Silale Swamp.
On the second day, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, where grasslands, wetlands and woodland habitats support a remarkable variety of wildlife. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to the Big Five, although wildlife sightings are always natural and cannot be guaranteed.
