About This Journey
The 3 Day Zanzibar Stone Town and Spice Tour 2026-2027 combines the history, architecture, markets and Swahili culture of Stone Town with a guided visit to one of Zanzibar's traditional spice-growing areas.
Stone Town of Zanzibar has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. UNESCO describes it as an outstanding Swahili trading town shaped by African, Arab, Indian and European influences over many centuries.
Walk through its narrow streets, see traditional carved doors, historic buildings, markets and seafront areas while learning about Zanzibar's trading history and multicultural heritage.
The journey also takes you outside the old town to the Kizimbani spice-growing area, approximately 12–15 km from Stone Town. Spice tours normally introduce visitors to plants such as cloves, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, cardamom, black pepper and seasonal tropical fruits.
