About This Journey
The 5 Day Pemba Diving and Beach Holiday 2026-2027 combines some of Pemba Island's best underwater experiences with relaxing time beside the Indian Ocean.
Pemba is one of Tanzania's leading diving destinations, known for coral walls, reef gardens, drop-offs, channels and clear tropical water. Dive locations around the island include Misali Island, Swiss Reef, Njao Gap, Fundo Gap and other reef systems, with sites selected according to certification level, currents, tides and weather conditions.
Marine life may include colorful reef fish, sea turtles, groupers, barracuda, trevallies, rays, reef sharks and other Indian Ocean species. Some Pemba sites are suitable for beginners, while stronger-current wall and drift dives require more experience.
The holiday also includes dedicated beach time, giving you an opportunity to relax between dive days rather than spending the entire trip on scheduled excursions.
Pemba can be visited throughout the year, with June to October generally offering calm, dry-season conditions and December to February also providing excellent diving and underwater visibility.

Today's sites will normally differ from Day 2, allowing you to experience another side of Pemba's marine environment.
Possible sites may include areas associated with Njao Gap, Swiss Reef, Fundo Gap or other nearby reefs, depending entirely on your certification level, tides, currents and operating conditions.
Njao Gap is particularly known for strong currents, coral walls and drift diving, while several other Pemba sites also require appropriate experience and careful tide planning.
Experienced divers may enjoy:
Wall dives
Drift dives
Reef drop-offs
Coral channels
Wide-angle underwater photography
Larger schooling fish
Less experienced divers will be taken to suitable calmer sites instead.
Safety remains the priority, and the dive operator may change the planned site according to sea conditions.
