About This Journey
The 5 Day Ruaha National Park Safari 2026-2027 offers an immersive wildlife experience in one of Tanzania's most impressive Southern Circuit destinations.
Ruaha National Park covers approximately 20,226 square kilometers and is Tanzania's second-largest national park. Its wilderness combines the Great Ruaha River, miombo woodland, baobab savannah, rocky hills and seasonal rivers.
The park is known for large populations of elephants and buffalo together with predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas. Wildlife may also include giraffes, zebras, African wild dogs, greater kudu, sable antelope, roan antelope, hippos and crocodiles.
The Great Ruaha River is one of the park's most important wildlife areas, particularly during the dry season when animals gather around permanent pools and remaining water sources.
With five days, this itinerary provides additional time for wildlife viewing compared with a shorter Ruaha safari, including two full days dedicated to exploring different sections of the park.
