Itinerary

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi and transferred to Momella Gate inside Arusha National Park.
Complete park registration and meet your mountain guide, ranger, cook, and crew before beginning the trek.
The trail passes through open grasslands and montane forest. Wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, monkeys, and antelopes may sometimes be seen on the lower mountain.
Continue steadily uphill through the forest before arriving at Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, leave Miriakamba Hut and continue climbing toward Saddle Hut.
The trail becomes steeper as you pass through upper montane forest, giant heather, and moorland. As the vegetation becomes more open, enjoy increasingly impressive views across Arusha National Park and the surrounding landscape.
Arrive at Saddle Hut for lunch and rest.
Later in the afternoon, climbers who feel strong can take an acclimatization hike to Little Meru, approximately 3,800 meters, before returning to Saddle Hut.
Enjoy an early dinner and prepare your equipment for the summit climb.

Wake around midnight for a light meal and prepare for the summit attempt.
Begin climbing in the early morning darkness toward Rhino Point before continuing along the volcanic crater ridge.
The terrain becomes steeper and rockier as you gain elevation. Your guide will maintain a steady pace while carefully navigating the more exposed sections.
Continue toward Socialist Peak, the highest point on Mount Meru.
Reach the summit around sunrise depending on your pace and mountain conditions. On a clear morning, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru's crater, Ash Cone, surrounding plains, and distant Mount Kilimanjaro.
After photographs and a short rest, descend to Saddle Hut for breakfast or brunch.
Continue descending through moorland and forest to Miriakamba Hut for your final night on the mountain.

After breakfast, begin your final descent from Miriakamba Hut toward Momella Gate.
Walk through the beautiful montane forest and lower grassland while enjoying your final views of Mount Meru.
There may again be opportunities to see monkeys, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and other wildlife as you approach the lower slopes.
